The beauty of this pattern is that it's accessible to quilters of all levels. It is designed for a confident beginner and is done in a very simple piecing style and with the classic stitch and flip technique for those sharp sweeping angles. There's no need to be intimidated by paper piecing in order to achieve these clean results, just good paper folding and a precise quarter-inch seam makes it happen.
Kanitta has made updates to her tutorial, making it very versatile as it includes cutting directions for a sweet 6" x 6" mini size, and a large 12" x 12" block. If you're looking to break out your colored stash, it's a great scrap buster but if you're looking to work up a scrap in a tight three-color palette of contrasting dark, medium and background colors, it looks just as vibrant. This block is perfect for use as a single statement pillow or as a continual motif throughout the entire size of quilt.
