Five Yard Quilt

Happy Quilters! Welcome back to the cutting table! Looking for an efficient yet gorgeous project, the Five Yard Quilt by Susan Kortum of The Quilt Shop is for you!

This beautiful project is finished at a versatile 52" x 68". The genius of this design is that it uses very clever fabric requirements. You only need EXACTLY 1 yard of 5 coordinating fabrics to make the entire quilt top and binding! You only need to pick up another 3-1/2 yards of backing to complete it.

Mill End Textiles give instructions which are very easy to follow, and applicable to makers of all levels. A beautiful 5x7 alternating block design is used for the design. Block Two pieces together simple strip pieces that all have a 1/4" seam allowance with fussy-cut 6-1/2" squares neatly framed by a second fabric.

This configuration is a fantastic approach to a swath of five coordinating fabrics that don't look like a mess. This is a great, fast and easy weekend project that comes out looking complex with little stress!
