I am so happy to share a project that has taken my heart away with the lovely Love Booth Quilt created by Kathleen Villarreal. When you are searching for a sewing project that is both easy to follow and will yield beautiful results, this is a must-have addition to your sewing list.
This lovely free quilt pattern was created by Let's Quilt Something's Krystal Jakelwicz, which is what this quilt is based on. Quilters love Krystal for her ingenious and accessible patterns that seem easy to create, but are actually very difficult to master. Kathleen's gorgeous version is a combination of all these amazing elements of the foundational elements and creates something so special!
Carefully studying the instructions for the pattern, there are a couple of important things to note. Simple strip piecing (sewing 3 2 ½" pieces together) and the classic stitch and flip technique to create adorable heart blocks leads to an incredibly satisfying build. The pattern is 100% precut so it is a matter of one Jelly Roll (40-42 assorted strips) and approximately 3 yards of background fabric. The beautiful quilt, when completed (4 by 5 block pattern) is a generous lap size, ideal for sitting on the sofa!
