This pattern is a clever take on the classic Jacob's Ladder design, with a twist on the colors. The layout alternates two variations of the main block (Blocks "A" and "B") to create a great diagonal sense across the top of the quilt.

- Crib Size (48" x 56"): uses 1 print Charm Pack (5" square) and 1 background Charm Pack.
- Throw Size (64" x 80"): One print Layer Cake (10" squares) trimmed to 5" and background fabric.
- Block Units: Completely constructed from basic quilting blocks, Half-Square Triangles (HSTs) cut to 4.5" and Four-Patch blocks cut 4.5" square.
- The layout is created by placing the pieces into alternate grid patterns (7x6 rows for crib size; 10x8 rows for throw size) with the intent of creating nesting seams and aligned points.
From pre-cuts or a new line of fabric, this pattern is easy to work with and gives a satisfying finish that is quick for the more experienced quilters and a great confidence builder for the less.
